Why I picked my Two-Voice Poem Charactars.

Why I choose the two charactars for this two-voice poem. The reason was that Eurydice what I thought in the myth was really, confusing because I did not understand how she was bitten, and how she went to the forest. Its suppose to be a myth so when I tried understand the part when she was in the forest, the plot, and I put in the myth and some of what I thought about what of happen, she went a forest, and a big forest because it would of taken a long time for the poison to go inside the blood.

So Eurydice and Orpheus myth story makes sense and I tried to put Hope in my story because the story about them could of changed, Orpheus could of have hope that Eurydice was behind her, Eurydice could of had hope and struggled for survival, but in the end the characters gave up. I choose hope because it was the weakest part of the story.

No man is and island. A man is a contient.

No man is an Island

"No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as any manner of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

These words by John Donne from the 1624 Meditation 17.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I think of this, I think of when the world was together, Pangaea. It was together, when everyone was connected, but when it spread, you would lost connection with everyone you know. Like World War 2, when this happened, the world was separated by racism, and war. The war was with Poland and France. Imagine if Jew was in Poland? Then it would be a disaster! What if you had friends with a Jew or a German? It would be a traitors and hate each other because your parents, the army, are using propaganda on you, they would say that Jew hate you or Germans hate you or worse. This is what I think about the poem, showing that when you separate the whole, it will fall apart.

The video made by Jason Van Gendere, was not related but theres one meaning which stands out, "No man's an Island." When I remembered the word island, it reminded me of Insolated, meaning island. When it said no mans an island, it meant no mans alone, excluded from the big continent. "No man's an Island" is the what stands out during the video.

During this video, I took the one which was one of significant and true fact about the world. "Do we show empathy by donation?" "I stand by you today, I look away.". These quotes from the video are significant mostly the donation. Do you donate because you feel like it? Do you donate because you pity them? If you feel pity then act. I think that's the voice of the quote. I gave donate money but I never felt i did anything good because money does not make happiness. "I stand by you today, I look away." this quote means when you see a poor person, you ignore, he's not important, go live your life but full with ignorance like Jesus Colon. You ignore the weak (woman) and leave because of prejudice. Gendere has shown that mankind that they don look at the poor and ignore them, see them who didn't succeed in life.

I think this video is based on reality, what everyone has done, did not care for people who did not succeed education and life.

Why I choose this picture?

I choose this picture because its small, alone deserted, and even though you are in a beautiful beach, you are alone, isolated.

Poem of a voice

The Poem

What do we do with a difference?
Do we stand and discuss its oddity
or do we ignore it?
Do we shut our eyes to it
or poke it with a stick?
Do we clobber it to death?
Do we move around it in rage
and enlist the rage of others?
Do we will it to go away?
Do we look at it in awe
or purely in wonderment?
Do we work for it to disappear?
Do we pass it stealthily
Or change route away from it?
Do we will it to become like ourselves?
What do we do with a difference?
Do we communicate to it,
let application acknowledge it
for barriers to fall down?
James Berry

The Questions
  • What labels does he place on the groups to which he belongs? on other groups?
  • How did those labels shape the way he perceived his choices? the decision he made?
  • Why does he have regrets? Did he make the right choice?
  • Would your answer be different if he were a white American?
  • Who is the victim in this story–Colón, the woman, or the larger society?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ideas not starting
  • Jesus Colon "Do we pass it stealthy" the poem is similar when Jesus Colon wanted to sneak away so no harms in his way because the segregation in the time making him fear the white people.
  • The blokes "Do we stand and discuss its oddity or do we ignore it?" No one in the school could nor stand up or help the victim being bullied. The Blokes also made them have no choice by making them be feared.
  • The island "Do we shut our eyes to it or poke it with a stick?" When the people on the island found the man, they want to kick him away because their not their kind. When the quote of "Do we shut our eye" this mean"t that they will take care of him and have no worries. Soon the poet tells us that "or poke it with a stick?" this quote. This quote is significant because in the end of The Island they threw him out, the quote meaning that they don't want the responsibility of taking care off him.
  • The Blokes "Do we stand and discuss its oddity or do we ignore it?" When John get blackmailed by The Blokes, "A little birdy tells me your dads a kid killer" which is really nasty. When he gets blackmailed, the people who are watching him in pain are just watching him being bullied up, their like bystanders watching, but can't help him. The people watching couldn't stand up for him, or even look at the problem. They just ignore it as it were just nothing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What shapes our identity what I think is people forcing you, apperence, emotion, how they look. Same as Jesus Colon, he was forced by the people so he left the woman who was not prejudice but the other people but not her. For example, If I forced a young boy to hate a certain person many times or talk about, the boy would be already learned and know about the certain person so he would be already controlled by.

Apperence is important, even now, it immediately tells who you are and what you are. If you wear proper clothing it means you are smart and really delicate. If you wear bad clothing means not rich, bad, and not smart.

These character traits tells and makes people do what they do, what makes the shape our identity.

This item, why item, about that item. Me in 10 objects.

Top Ten Favorites Objects - Amin

  1. Penguin and key chain
  2. Art pictures
  3. Knife
  4. My X-Box 360
  5. Mosquito light
  6. Badminton
  7. Violin Music or just music
  8. Camera.
This item, what item, why this item. Me in 8 objects.

This first object of a penguin, this penguin was always on my bed when I was alone, an imaginary friend. This toy reminds me the day I saw the cold beach in Australia, this was like a flashback when I was 5 or 4, really hard to remember. It was night, 7:00pm as the cold breeze from the beach shiver my spine going up and down. As the waves came again and again, I heard penguin shouts and their small movement with their feet, one by one, a penguin came marching to the beach. I saw their furry skin, orange beak and which was really beautiful before I left Australia It was the last day that I would stay in Australia, its a day that I never seen it face to face. Its now a shimmer in my mind, only an item, a special item can help me remember which was a penguin.

I like art because its the only time I put my ideas without writing. Writing is hard because I can't put them in order but I can have many ideas, I see art in a different way because art is an imagination, you can create many things with it like a minotaur half man and half bull. It like an invention to me, and to yourself because what you made is a new, not copied but yours truly. What inspired me was in 6th grade in Art when the subject was Picasso, he puts music into art which makes sense. I love the picture which you have to think really hard to know the sequence like the beats going up and down. The art picture shows
the dark color to light color, darkness to light, bad to evil, and benevolent to malevolent.

This is probably one of the dangerous because I did something wrong that everyone wouldn't think they would do with a knife. It was a normal morning when I was hungry for instant noodles when there was no scissors to cut the instant noodles. So then I used the 16cm long and 6 cm as the width knife to cut the noodles but then I cut half of my middle finger. It was unimaginable pain on my middle finger, but I think it wasn't just an incident because I think there was purpose why I cut my middle finger like you know. So then I went to the clinic to stop it, and did a tetanus shot on my arm from stopping the metal from infecting me. Then I had to clean the bloody kitchen and especially my moms bed room. The knife was like the same item as a penguin only reminds me the pain, and blood. I still had the knife in my kitchen which is shocking scaring the pants out of me to see the knife who made you bleed.

My X-Box 360 means all lot to me because it was my gaming device over the summer, it was my friend when I am bored, happy, and I am not sure but when I am sad, its like my penguin but with many features. The first time I got my X-Box was like having a nuclear bomb which can change my life. It could play many games but I am really picky, I play strategy and thinking games like chess. Like Command and Conquer where you can control armies. This show that I think real hard before doing anything like steps by steps like chess. You command, and you conquer.
like
The item next is the stinging, shocking , and helpful to everyone. It was the mosquito Zapper, it was brightly purple which attracts the blood sucking mosquito's to the beautiful light which kills each instantly, in reality the zapper is actually purple electricity which is really painful if you touch the tube or the metal. This magnificent zapper show that I really hate people who annoy me like mosquito.

The violin is the most unique instrument because its soft, and its like music in your ears. Not like other instrument, which is loud. I am a person who like soft music which is the violin, slow and steadily, you can dance to the rhythm like Carlos Gardel who made “por una cabeza” which is soft and have good rhythm. even titanic! I take interest in soft, slow and rhythm music.

The 8th item is a camera, a camera who reminds you of the past that you had, a camera not only a for remembrance but a piece of art. Some picture from the past when I am small makes me happy that I know I was there, with my family and in Australia. It captures a moment of my life that I went to the cold seas, rough waves coming splashing every second, the emerging penguins near the coasts. This makes me happy that I was there when I never knew when I had a small memory capacity. The image which is a piece of art is the person who was sky-diving and opened his parachute at the right time, to take the picture. This inspires a photographer many things you can do with the your surroundings. These are my 8 items I chose, that represent me in 8 ways.

The reason I pick this fantastic quote.

"Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?" I picked this quote because, most of the time, I have homework, homework which always has due dates which make you compacted with things, I usually wish it was the only homework so I can show my true effort in to it. I remember when I did a comic homework and it was due by 2 days and knew that it would be to late if I put soo much effort inside because it might take too long and might needed extension. So I did a one which was like 1/2 or 1/4 of my effort into that paper. I wished it was 1 week so it would like something which came out a letter from heaven. It even effects my work habbit because I rush too much.

Where the Hell is Matt?? Well I don't know!

Matt, he makes everyone together from all around the world and different nations. most of them never knew who was their neighbours The dancing makes people together, from a one person doing the show, to over many people. More people, different ideas, but is the same kind.

When I went to my school in Malaysia, most of them are Malaysian but rarely any other people. When the first english person came, it mean't that I actually met someone who went around the world and went here. I looked at him closely, and he was so different that he told me about what was about his country and what the thing they do. He was form America and and I was from Malaysia, he said they ate a "Lamb" I thought it was another type of chicken with rice but no. We had many differences, I was so into what was he because I was only 5-6 years old that time so what they did in school is too Malaysian when I said "too Malaysian" I mean we only studied about Asia but not the other side. I learned all lot from him because he was a from the other side of the world and I was connected to him like a line. I am so lucky that I went to ISKL so I can know all lot of people from the other side.

I think Matt is trying to connect people around the world because I learned all lot from International School then the coutries schools.

The picture above show people around the world hearing each with a phone like Matt which he travels the world to meet people. This make everyone connect like
