The New Trial

How the children will affect the next generation

Youths in this generation should Fight for Change as we children will face many obstacles in the future. For example, Felix Finkbeiner, at the age of 13 making a big change onto our world by saving the environment, Chaeli Mycroft helping the disabled children and Iqbal Masih who stood up against the child slavery in Pakistan.

Felix Finkbeiner, a youth at the age of 13, planted 12.6 million trees, during that, he had the confidence to face the new worlds challenge of immense tree destruction causing erosion on the area. He fought for change, for the environment to be sustainable and healthy. The children in the future will need the confidence to over come the new obstacles that they will approach in the future, Felix Finkbeiner is one of those examples of people who had confidence to over come one of the world problems, erosion. Felix Finkbeiner manage to plant 12.6 million trees at the age of 13, but how? Felix Finkbeiner did not gain 12.6 million trees out of nowhere, he took small steps to reach where he is right now. Felix first started at Munich International School where he was assigned a normal presentation about the environment, just like every one else, and was assigned to talk about the presentation, two months later he planted his first sapling out of his million tree campaign. A huge step from a follower to an leader. Felix is one of the biggest examples of showing confidence when he asked the C.E.O of Toyota for fund at the age of 9, this was no easy task for anybody. He manages to obtain the fund to plant more trees. Felix shows that with great confidence, with a great dream to achieve, you can achieve it. Felix Finkbeiner showed that with confidence and a dream, you can achieve the goals that you want to obtain, at a young age to make the environment a better place. Felix FInkbeiner is one of the people that helped the world physically, but another Youth that Fights for Change helps the world physically and emotional.

Iqbal Masih was similar to the age of Felix Finkbeiner at the age of 10, helped over 3,000 Pakistani children from slavery to gain their freedom, and rights. Iqbal Masih gave the 3,000 or more children their freedom back and their rights for them to live their life. Iqbal Masih shows that we need to Fight for change for the way we all live and how our rights are being treated. Iqbal Masih believes that the child's voice needs to be heard instead of being inferior towards other people. As he experienced when he was a child, and now he was against what he felt wrong, slavery. While some of the children did not take action of their perpetrators, Iqbal did. He did not want the other children to feel the same why as he felt, he did not want history to repeat itself. Iqbal wanted to give every child a chance to move on and become healthy like everyone else, not like he was when he escaped the camp, a 12 year old with a body of a 6 year old. His actions of wanting the way of life different than the pass helped the 1000+ children living in Pakistan, this action caused many children to gain their rights instead of being a slave towards the carpet for example. Iqbal actions have helped the people in Pakistan to gain their rights of not being a slave and have a good healthy future. Iqbal Masih and Felix Finkbeiner have helped society of what it needs and lacks, these are one of the millions of people that have contributed to our society, and another contributor is Chaeli Mycroft.

Chaeli Mycroft had the similar motives of what they want to achieve for the children, she wants the disabled children to have the same rights as a normal civilian. “for all people and not just people with disabilities, because we are all different” Chaeli Mycroft. Chaeli Mycoft is implying that we should not make things that make us hold back from what we can become, a blind man can become an artist, a man who lost arm can still do many other things that life is coming at us. She gives hope to many disabled children at a very young age. If we don’t stand up like Chaeli Mycroft, we will always be behind the shadows, not showing our own true potential. Chaeli Mycroft gives hope to many children that they can’t be behind that boundary of dreams and reality. Chaeli Mycroft changed 3,000 childrens live and more over her cause to make an impetus movement for the children. . Chaeli Mycoft showed that with any disability, or any obstacle, you can always overcome. There is no boundary for anyone to go through.

In the future, we will face challenges like we are facing today, in order to overcome them, we have to have the spirit like Chaeli Mycroft, we have to take care of earth like Felix Finkbeiner, and we have to unsure happiness toward everybody like Iqbal Masih. They represent a leader to overcome one of the major problems we live today, they represent what is worth fighting for, and we have to fight for a better future. nm

Determination Defies the Impossible

“The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination." Tommy Lasorda. Tommy Lasorda was a major league baseball player for the Kansas City Athletics and became the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The quote shows indicates us the obstacles that Tommy Lasorda overcame, winning against other teams. Life is like a maze; it presents many challenges and it takes a strong person that is able to push their determination to the limit and fight for success.

William Wissemann, was one of these people who had to overcome an obstacle, dyslexia. William was diagnosed with diagnosed as a young boy with dyslexia which effects his learning process. His dyslexia makes him an outlier from his classmates, making his learning capabilities different from other students. This disability caused him to go to a disability school to help him cope with his learning disability. William’s disability made it harder to learn in his academics. Although his disability kept him behind, struggling with his academics, he did not think it was impossible for him. William did not stop his academic studies just because of a disability, he did not stop thinking that dyslexia would be the end of his life and that he should live under a rock. He believed that if you have to move one step forward, you have to know the moves backwards. He was determined not to make the term ‘disability’ a bad connotation, but instead a positive connotation that will connect him to success. William made an impetus change from thinking it was a bad connotation into a good connotation, his actions by being determined to become just like anybody else. William is one of many who have to fight a daily battle to succeed. He battled a learning disability, which needed determination to push through, but some battle diseases which affect you physically.

Muhammad Ali, a three time heavy weight champion, a man who can overcome any enemy in sight, but now he faces the hardest enemy, not in the ring, but in his life. This enemy, Parkinson's disease, effects his quality of life. As Muhammad Ali lit the torch in the 1996 Olympics, his disability caused him to struggle. His left hand shook from the Parkinson's diseases. This video of him shows that even the simplest tasks are the hardest obstacles for him. Just imagine how hard it must be for him to brush his teeth, walk, eat and communicate effectively (Dyslexia effected his speech during the first few seconds of the “This I believe” article. It takes a lot of determination to fight Parkinson’s disease just to do the simplest work. Muhammad Ali believed that the ability to overcome an opponent is to believe in yourself and the power of determination. Ali has been in many battles and only lost 5 out of 61 fights. That determination not to lose is the determination to win. If he had enough determination to take down 61 people, then he can take down his disability problem. Learning from William Wissemann and Muhammad Ali, and their show of great determination to overcome mental and physical obstacles, I realized that I also have to overcome obstacles on my journey.

I myself have been struggling with what life gives me and how I have to learn how to learn from them. One of the obstacles that is always the hardest to defeat was the first time I touched my pen onto the paper to write. My writing from 2nd grade to 5th grade are the most frustrating times of my life, and it was during that part of my life when I felt that writing was never my thing. In 4th grade, doing the ISA testing, I received 2nd last out of all the students for writing. This is the time where my determination was lost and hope that my writing will never become as good as the others. But that incident that occurred was the incident that brought me where I am, fighting to be better writer. Ever since I received that mark, that low mark, my goals were set to become a better writer. The writings I wrote were usually repetitive, a big mess of ideas, and uncategorized paragraphs. Although I can not master and overcome these obstacles in a day, I am diligent to work through them and become a successful writer. I will confront these goals step by step, 1 by 1. Reading a book is a small movement that will cause a big effect in future, even though I regret not reading that much during the pass, I will use this time for the new.

In the future, we will face many obstacles from physical to mental obstacles, and both will be a great obstacles to overcome. If Muhammad Ali can fight against Parkinson's diseases, we can fight against the diesease. if William Wisseman overcome his disability of learning, we can fight against the disease, determination is the key factor what is impossible and impossible defying the word “impossible”. Nothing can be won easily, but you can still fight what is worth fighting for.

Law is pitiless

Is it right to treat a deadly 17 year old person who killed 30 people differently and a 47 year old person who killed 1 have more severe charges? Law is suppose to be equal to all mankind, but is it equal toward juvenile? Law is pityless judge, law is what creates the a wall between the good and evil, but giving juvenile less charges than a normal adult individual? That is not law, the law is to teach the evil to make them into good, but only with the same charges as an adult. Thus giving these juveniles a harder payment for what they done, they learn what they did, and they will learn for the long years. Not just a mere 3-7 years. The law should have the option to charge juveniles as adults in murder cases.

Cases should be tried based on the seriousness of the act not on the age of the alleged perpetrator. In this article is about several victims, several was suppose to be trialed with a higher sentence, but because of the law, the perpetrator got a lighter sentence just because he was below 18. The heavier sentence if he was a adult compared to the sentence of a juvenile is really really lowered. This article shows a perfect example of the flaws of the law towards juveniles sentences. Jail sentences are meant to show the person not to do it again, thus having a change over their life time. If we make the law equal against the juveniles and the adults, this will decrease the crime rate because of the fact that the juveniles will know that they will have larger charges and more risk. Instead of knowing 1 person will only give 5 years the person would know that he will get 30 years. The law is meant to be feared because of the jail time, fear is what law needs, and that is what it needs to create less crimes toward the juveniles. A teenager who is given a lighter sentence because of his age does not show the lesson thought if the jail years is really low, thus showing the flaws of teenaged perpetrators. Even if the teenager had a second chance in life, does it really mean he will feel the risk of going to jail? The jail sentence of 5 years for him if he killed 10 people? Will 5 years give the teenager a lesson? Or give himself happiness.

Giving a second chance to a teenager with lighter charges will NOT give them enough years to learn from their mistakes. When we were children, making many trouble over and over again, we didn't stop. But when we have been scolded, we learned our mistakes the harsh way. This concept is the same toward the juvenile, they have not been jailed long enough to learn their mistakes. This article >here< this article shows evidence that even if the teenager leaves jail for few years and repeats the past, the person will have more of a chance that he/she will repeat the same action (delinquent teenagers). With the evidence showing the leading cause of the start of killing with “The result of being a juvenile delinquent is the increasing incidence of runaways, teenage suicides, teenage parenthood, and a series of unhappy marriages and divorces. In this new millennium, children seem to be getting less nurturing and support from within their family.” This quote shows that if a happens, there are these variables that are the reason that caused this juvenile delinquent. The parents, the perpetrator following their peers, the environment. These will not only make more chances of the teen perpetrator do the actions again. These can be be stopped if we allow juvenile cases and adult cases equal, causing fear among the nation, threatening the citizens if they make a mistake they will face the consequences even as a juvenile. This fear is good, to keep the people think another before doing the actions,

Some people argue that trying juveniles as adults doesn’t result in lower juvenile crime rates; however few studies have been conducted regarding this issue. One of these studies are not hugely supporting that juvenile should be equal as the adult because of the fact that during 1978 there was still a big unemployment rate which caused problems, which caused a lot of crime rate in New York. The fact that during the first test in 1978 (in New York history between 1946 - 1977) to see about the crime rates and the differences with adult cases and juvenile cases, there was still a big unemployment rate, jobless and many people sleeping in the streets, which also gives another motive toward to juvenile if the juvenile has a broken family, no moral support since family is either bad or dead, and needs to support themselves, and thus, a probability that these juveniles that were held in adult cases were going to have to do it again in order to survive in the real world. In order for this test to be supportive and indicate that juveniles were not affected if they were treated as an adult case is if the test has no certain variables that might make these juveniles do these crimes again (Great Depression lead to Crimes, jobless, motives) and the economy has to be stable in order to say that these juveniles are not affected by more harsher sentences.

From the second law (in this article they talk about the comparison between juvenile and adult) compared to the other law about privacy, this shows that the public can not look at these files IF they did their wrong doings when they were young. This is a problem. The two laws about privacy (2nd law compared) shows that dangers about hiring a worker if you don’t know their files, the dangers of trusting a person. The fact that the files will be sealed from the public if you did your wrong things when you were 18 and below is dangerous because the citizens could be indanger if these criminals from the past have the urge to do the same things. Even though they might have a different life from before, the citizens still do not know who they are messing with. So maybe the citizens do not the man their talking with is a person who killed 40 people before...

If we are the citizens with no rights to see the peoples records that we talk to, they might be criminals, if we are the citizens who felt the loss of the ones, while the criminal walks with only stones dragging them to prison, is it fair? Should the law pity for the ones who kills or the one who dies?

Backwards helps Forwards

"The only man who never makes a mistake is the man who never does anything."

This quote tells that Theodore Roosevelt believes that is more important than to try then to do nothing. In the book "The Giver" Lois Lowry shows that memory is important, meaning that we do not do the same mistakes over and over again. Memories and Knowledge keeps us from going forward.

What is worth fighting for? Knowledge is worth fighting for. In the past, I see that man makes mistakes and never repeat them in future, but if knowledge is limited, the mistakes we make, will be the the same mistakes in our mind. In the book, Jonas leaves the community because the "Sameness" in the community, he seeks curiosity and a better "life". I feel that "Sameness" meaning the society never moves forward and nothing but the same thing.

In the book "The giver" the community does not keep the emotions such as poverty, hatred, etc. This causing a utopian society, 'Sameness" where there is nothing bad happen, only good, but I see a utopian society is something I feel that we should not accomplish, because in Jonas's community is already "perfect" and no new knowledge is being sparked. A utopian society is a society that is perfect but if its perfect, why not stay as it is, the major flaw of a utopian society. So both knowledge of the poverty, hatred, etc. will make not a utopian society but a excellent society, a society that moves forward and not move backwards. Jonas when he escaped the community, he feels more knowledge, he has the feeling of pain and finally feels hunger, this shows that bad memories come in and at the same time, we try to avoid these dangerous times, so when he starves, he finds a solution, a new idea, to hunt for fish to eat.

The book "The Giver" shows that knowledge in the community is important to make decisions. In the book, as the Receiver of Memories, Jonas sees the past and understands why its taken out of the community, but as the Receiver of Memories, his job is to use memories to control what to do in the community. Like when the air plane passed by, they were ordered to take it down, but as the Receiver, the Giver makes an order to wait before taking the plane down. When the Giver make the decision to not take the plane down, instead of following the opinion of the elders who don't have the same knowledge as the giver. The giver compared to the elders, he is more wise in decisions/action when facing troubles, the elders do not have the memories in the past like giving a person sometime to fly back. Even though the bad memories come, it helps our decision making. To me, I now think that the reason we remember the bad memories more than the good memories is because we do not learn from them. Bad memories shows the mistakes we done and how we can improve better and better. The memories the Giver gives to Jonas are the ones which is important and will help in decision making, not the happy slide through the snow ones.

Knowledge is key to success and decisions, we can not forget the pass but we have to live with it, living with it will makes ourselves a better person and better knowledge. To overcome the future we must overcome the past, the mistakes we have done and how we can make it better in future, knowledge is key to keep moving on.

The New Book

If there was a new hope for earth, and new start. What would be one of the characteristics that I foresee in future. A future for New Earth I would like to see is a world that is controlled by law, not controlled by a human being, a fair trial. In this world we live in, we depend on people to judge what is right and what is wrong, but that is not really controlled by law. Law is neither man or a spirit, it is suppose to be both, both meaning not controlled by the eyes of the man but controlled equally, the law is suppose to protect a mans freedom and will from being violated. And when a man is sent to prison, he/she should not be subjected to a rigged judge.
When a man goes to trial, we do not know if he is suppose to go to prison for 1 month or 30 years in prison, it is up to the judge to give a fair trial which I see never possible in the hands of a man (us). 1 month might seem to short for a killer, 30 years might be too long for a killer (depends what type). I like a law that is both equal to both sides of the scale, because law is the judges eyes, judges eyes is never fair because he/she has the power whether to let this man out to be free, or to be kept in prison, and the judge could of been racist or bribed to do what he or she feels can do to the victim, that is man. The judge is never what is in for both. For example, back when black people where being oppressed by the white people, when the whites were racist to the blacks, we had an unfair law. When Rosa Parks was sent to prison just because she sat in the colored section. This tells that the law is not fair with the eyes of a human. If the law (not controlled by us humans) saw the action taken against Rosa Parks, it would of protected her rights and she wouldn't been harassed. The law is suppose to be equal on both sides and never controlled by a rigged judge. This what I see in future might solve many cases around the world and the reason why I chose it, I see that nothing is right in the hands of a human being, controlling that much power.

Propaganda, the control of the mind

http://www.calvin.edu/academic/cas/gpa/posters/check.jpg
In this propaganda poster, Hitler tells us that the Nazi's are mmuch stronger than the kings (the queen or king) while the white piece is small and weak. They can only move forwards, but not backwards while the King or Queen (Nazi) can control the board and change the future since they can move any direction, changing the outcome. The Wording says

“Check the war-mongers of the world. Every vote for the Führer!”

In Kristalnacht, 1938, November 9th-10th. The very first attack to the Jews, this name which stands out to the Jewish people. On this day, many people had died, 275 destroyed synagogue, 75 businesses destroyed and looted, 1000 homes of Jewish people destroyed and looted, 30,000 Jewish people were sent to concentration camp and 100 killed. In the end, no one was to blame for all the millions of broken glass and destroyed homes. They destroyed synagogue's, their religion, their place to worship., soon 30,000 Jewish men and women were sent to camps. Kristalnacht was the warning, the small problem.

Kristalnacht was name because of the millions of sharded glass on the floor, destroyed by the Nazi. Goebell, the ministry of propaganda, ended the invasion toward the 10th of November. Adolf Hitler, as soon he became to power he made many poster of fat, low class, and many negative thought about the Jews, Adolf Hitler changed people perceptions on things because of these posters, first they had little reason why they should hate Jews, now they know why they should hate Jews, but Hitler brainwashed them, Hitler propaganda phrase ,
" If you tell people a lie enough times they will believe it."- Adolf Hitler

They made the first concentration camp in 1933 March in Dachau, which was made who opposed against Hitler. 30,000 Men and women were in the camp, out of 30,000, 2,500 didn' make out alive, 17,500 made it but how was it possible for any country to take them in? America had a limit amount of people come and Canada taking no Jew immigrants to their country. Their very own infamous quote saying "How many should we take in? None is too many." -- Canada
Even though it was really difficult in Germany, there was more to come even outside Germany, lucky one who went across world were lucky instead of being trapped in Germany and where they know things will go bad.

The most shocking part in history was, the turning point, in the histroy between 1933 to 1938, is mostly when Kristalnacht happened. When Kristalnacht happened, it was a warning, the warning towards the Jewish people who thought Hitler was just a small problem, then it turned out in the end many Jews died. Kristallnacht was also the first attack to the Jews and the Jews have lost their freedom or rights in Germany and now Goebell wants to attack the Jews. To me this is absulotly frightning, if I were a German soldier I wouldn't even stand, I would be horrified and completly mad. Even though it was the Hindenburg's fault of signing the treaty and making the country sign the treaty of Versailles causing all the trouble, you can't tell the difference which is worst. Being a German when the hyper-inflation happened and all the economy busted, food supply low or being a Jew, sent to concentration camps and being starved for many days and night, paying 1,000,000,000 mark for not doing the damage while the Germans destroyed the Jews property, having no right to do many things like: going to town, can't go to places full with Nazis. Mostly losing your dignity, power, and having humiliation towards the Germans.

There is no way Germans think they had more pain than the Jews, the Jews where more humiltiated then the Jews and what is more bad is that they have no more civil rights!

During the ruling of Hitler, they made many proparganda poster, even though these are just poster, these brainwashed many people. " If you tell people a lie enough times they will believe it."--Adolf Hitler. This quote may of think its just nothing but in Germany, each wall and corner you turn is a poster, the however makes them see almost soo many poster around so this made Adolf Hitlers Propaganda work, not just one street, but all of the street, its nearly impossible to not see one of the posters in Germany, this made his plan go forward. What was really outstanding and I never knew about was that in every poster there is a picture, this picture is the one which makes viewer want to see, not just Hitlers face, but Hitler knew that if he put bad pictures of Jews and Germans mich better than it will draw people eye towards it, Hitler knew that the people of Germany or everyone is most likely drawn to see picture. Also what was really interesting was that in the very first time when Germany had Hitler ruling and said to boycott the Jews stores, the Germans have no reason to hate, boycott the Jews, they had little reason to hate them. While Hitler had many reason, with his power, he changed the whole mind of Germany. Boycotting Jew products or businesses, making Jew go away if there is many Germans in the area (moving away them from other people), then soon destroying their property and German not being blamed says that the Jew owner have to pay the price for the damage = 1,000,000,000 mark ( 1 billion mark), and then Goebell told that the Nazi's were going to attack the Jews, Kristalnacht is the very first attack 1938, Novaember 9th-10th, this changed the life of a Jew, then the most devastating weapon, the concentration camps, even though it wouldn't kill you in one shot you will starve to death. These all were stages of the Genocide.

When I see this, I think of how humane was Hitler? How can he hate even though Jews help the Germans in the first World War? Hitler can use propaganda to hate the Jews for the humiliation towards other country but Hitler went to far, he started killing the Jews like the concentration camp what happened to Bruno and Shmuel. But the biggest reason is that how can a man, a man with no feelings toward the Jews, being starved to death. The Jews had the same thing also, they were starving during the World War 1. The Nazi men just threw the Jews as if they were junk, or trash and think of them as the problem of war. What I learn't so far was really shocking, interesting, and not wanting the truth. I can not beleve any more that Canada took not alot of people to their country, this is must be the most frustrating obstacle to over-come if you were a Jew.

My Secret Brain

During the discussion in class about learning profiles, I learnt which part of my brain was the dominant part. My right hemisphere is dominant meaning that I am a gestalt learner. A gestalt learner sees the big picture rather than small details that a logic person would know and see.

However, while I am a gestalt learner with the right hemisphere very dominant one part of me ,my eyes is not. I am right eared, right handed, and right footed. However I am left eyed. This gives me a learning profile of "K".

So my teacher needs to understands that I learn best by through movement, like drama. For example the play for Theseus, it was easier to understand the story line than anything else, it stuck with me than reading from the book. Even though I have a upper hand in Visual, I need to see the the whole picture and need the most information.

As I, a student, I can't communicate really well if under-stress. Sometimes I can see the whole picture in math, but I need to make it smaller pieces so I could understand the whole picture. This happens to humanities subject mostly, it is hard to take it in some big facts, hard to understand to even though I can see the whole picture.

I should be responsible where I sit in class if I read with my left eye, and read right to left, I need to find a comfortable place to seat instead of sitting in the wrong area. I would try to understand hard information and try to make the information much easier instead of being helpless. I would need to really now how to communicate properly by reading out loud, writing, drawing. I need to sit in front of the class on the left side of the room so I can easily see the board instead of having trouble reading.
